Completed projects

1. “Research and support to organic agriculture in Tanahu distirct of Nepal” funded by Agriculture Institute of Canada (AIC)

The project started on November, 2009 and ended with its grand success on May, 2011. During the projects following achievements were accomplished:

  • Organizational capacity building of resource centre for the development of demonstration site and training centre

  • Formation of 7 farmers groups
  • Installation of two shallow wells and maintenance of one well with motor pumps in all three wells at Darai and Kumal Village
  • Trained 56 local farmers in organic agriculture
  • Trained 44 members (HIV positive) from different parts of country in collaboration with Nava Kiran Plus
  • Completion of Need assessment survey
  • Practiced organic farming in 0.5 hectare of land in Kyamin VDC
2. Technical support to TOT on organic farming for 14 lead farmers of Accham district at GSOARC, Tanahu in collaboration with Development Resource Mobilization Network (DRMN). The project was supported by World Food Program (WFP)

14 lead farmers participated in the training program at GSOARC, Tanahu for 30 days strating from February 2011. The training with theoretical, practical, excursion visits, presentation, audio-visual presentation etc was adopted. The local NGO, SEBAC Nepal of Achham district coordinated for the program.

3. Technical support to basic organic farming training to local farmers at Achham district in collaboration with DRMN supported by World Food Program (WFP). 50 farmers benefited by training program.

14 lead farmers participated in TOT organize 3 training program in three VDC viz. Thati, Bindebasini and Khaptad VDC and train 50 local farmers. The duration of training program was 10 days which is the basic training.
